I can’t believe I’m even writing this. 10 years ago I had a horrible accident, I was hit by a car while riding my bicycle. I smashed my leg, had brain damage, internal bleeding in my kidney and liver (almost died), and a lottt of emotional pain. I loved running before my accident, and I was obviously told I could never run again. I had multiple operations, and I am left with a very big metal plate that is inserted in my tibia bone, that keeps my leg together. I have always stayed active, practicing Pilates religiously 3 times a week. However, this year I started feeling a change in my body, and after consulting all my doctors and therapists I decided to give it a go. I started this app alongside sessions with a running physiotherapist, and here I am. Who would have thought?

So sorry about your accident 10 years ago riding a bike, but congratulations on completing run 3 of week 9 and graduating from C25K 🎓 🏃🏾 👍

Just wondering if you still cycle 🚴 as well as 🏃🏾 run.
Thank you! I haven’t cycled since the accident... after years of therapy and overcoming a lot of anxiety and PTSD symptoms, that I still have, I realized it’s too much stress for me and I can live my life without it. I did miss the adrenaline rush though, that’s why running works so well for me now.
That's very interesting Tetti 84, sorry about you not cycling since the accident 10 years ago, I can understand your situation, but it's now nice that you have taken up running.
I have been cycling since I was 7 years old, but only started running, apart from at Primary School when I was 71, the reason was that I cut down cycling from 4 runs a week to one short run a week in my late 60's, so I started to do other exercises, running included.
I started C25K with run 1 of week 1 on the 18th April 2018 and ran run 3 of week 9 on the 18th of June the same year, my first parkrun was 13 months later on 13th July 2019, didn't intend to go on to 10K but did, I have ran 4/10Ks, my PB time is 69.23.
