SO-Iβm joining a ladies only boxercise class today (and every Friday morning) to be part of my weekly exercise routine, with a boot camp on a Monday morning too π₯ I feel this will take the pressure off of me for not running, and that if I get out for a run at least once a week I will be doing plenty to keep my body moving.
Running/exercise is my escape and I do look forward to getting my highs from it ππ»
Iβve also just realised something quite interesting-before my husband left me (which was my reason for starting C25K) I would never have started another exercise class! I was pressured to work more/be at home/not have fun whilst he was working π’ This programme really does teach us more than how to run ππ½ββοΈππ»β€οΈ
Quite emotional now! Enjoy your exercise everyone-for whatever reason youβre doing it ππ»

The thing about exercise is it takes you away from it all, you learn a lot about yourself from doing it.
You will be OK, you have us lot on here to chat with if you need to.
Boxercise is excellent, I did it years ago and loved it. If you are doing a few sessions of exercise per week then it will keep you right.
Smile my friend ππ

Hiya ππ»
Oh my gosh I loved it! Came out super buzzing and very hot π₯΅ It really was great fun.
I nearly didnβt go-Iβm so glad I did go!
Thank you so very much ππ»

It definitely does provide a buzz π
What's your next workout going to be?
β’ in reply to
Weather depending, a run on Sunday (my 8 year old running buddy needs considering). If not, a home yoga session then boot camp on Monday πͺπ»
The social aspect of going to the classes is amazing π
β’ in reply to
Not a long run or?
Do you know many yoga moves?
The classes are a great place to meet new people π

Iβll aim for a 20 minute run if I do get out.
Iβve done yoga for years and am a baby yoga teacher π§π»ββοΈ(yes, it is a thing!). I canβt claim to be someone who does extreme yoga poses, itβs more of a good, focused, developmental exercise for me ππ»

I have been trying yoga, well some stuff but not to sure about it. I'll keep at it though.

There are some great videos on YouTube. I like Tara Stiles π§π»ββοΈ

I look at them and try, it will take time to learn them.
β’ in reply to
Just remember that some of them take years to master ππ»π
β’ in reply to
Then I'll have to try for years, there are only some that I want to do. How good are you at it? π

Back in 2003, I fell out of a headstand when Johnny Wilkinson did his thing for England to win the rugby World Cup π
It takes a lot of mental strength to hold a headstand and Iβve lost that over the years...
Iβm good at balancing poses, some I get vertigo and canβt do (crow pose).
Itβs more about moving through with ease though. I believe the purpose of yoga is to clear and release the body ready for savasana (the resting bit) ππ»

England won a world Cup.. Wow! π I don't kniw what he did, please enlighten me π
Why mental strength, doesn't it take physical strength at all?
I'm trying moves that stretch my whole body or most of it all at once.. Spyhnx is one of them I think. Its to help relieve pain.
What is the resting bit?
β’ in reply to
Well, he did something and won it for us π Iβve no idea what, I was upside down π
Yes, of course physical strength-core especially. I guess itβs like the mental side of running. We can do anything, itβs our mind that tricks us into thinking that we canβt.
The laying down in what is more commonly known as βcorpse poseβ is the resting bit at the end of any yoga. Be sure to look it up and do it ππ»π§π»ββοΈ

He won it for you lot and you were upside down at the time, how odd π
I understand about what the mind can do, I was in the armed forces and learned all about it, I'm also a qualified pt so i know about pushing through mental boundaries, you are right that it tells us we can't do things, but that's really a survival instinct that tries to keep us out of harm and in the comfort zone.
I'll look into that corpse pose, thank you and thank for the help and advice that you are giving me, I really appreciate it π

Youβre welcome π

You too ππ
I hear you. It's about so much more and I think you're doing amazing. I've tried a bit of boxing at the gym in the past and can't punch my way out of a paper bag! It's a good workout.
β’ in reply to
I enjoyed the punching! π₯ Relieved a lot of stress through that π
β’ in reply to
I just laughed all the way through when I tried it π. I should have just imagined annoying things and let loose!!
β’ in reply to
Oh, I imagined it was someone π€£π±
β’ in reply to
I was trying not to say that but it's what I really meant πππ
β’ in reply to
Haha! I donβt hold back nowadays! π
β’ in reply to
I'm glad to hear it and here's a π€ for when you got emotional this morning.
You deserve it! Be warned, as a confident and independent woman you are gonna get attention but make sure they don't try to impinge on that new found freedom! ππ»πͺπ»π
Hiya Fabulous π Thatβs great that youβre on a mission to run all winter-go girl πͺπ»ππ½ββοΈ Be sure to enjoy yours too! Iβll follow your progress βοΈ
