Week 5 Run 3 - is the 20 min run a glitch?!

Just to want to check the app asking me to run 20 minutes straight at week 5 run 3 is what it is meant to say and isn’t an error?! To go from taking a walking break after 8 minutes in week 2 to 20 minutes straight running seems like a big change...!

Thanks

Nope, no glitch and it's really not as bad as you think.

Remember, this is what the programme has been preparing you for 👍🏻😉

Poor you, yep, its correct and you can and will manage. Everything you've done up to now is leading to this run. Trust the plan, trust yourself. Slow slow slow then celebrate yay you will just have run 20min go for it we are cheering you on

No, it's not a mistake, all the previous runs have prepared you for run 3 of week 5, trust the program, take that run slow and steady, no hurry, its not a race, once you have completed it you will be very proud of yourself, good luck. 👍 🏃🏾

It is totally impossible and all those countless thousands who said they just trusted the plan, paced themselves and accomplished this are dissembling fraudsters...........

Alternatively, they may be honest, happy runners beaming from ear to ear......

People start C25K because they hear good things of it......now is time to start believing.

You can do this.

Ok thanks guys , I’ll guess I’ll suck it up and give it a go! Eek! Just not sure I have the right breathing pattern going as I’m always ready for my walk when the app tells me to have one! This will be a test for sure

Make sure you are jogging at an easy conversational pace, as described in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Let you into a secret - it's the best run of the program! Because it seems so impossible right? only it's not ... and you will feel great once you've done it, really really great 😃

This post just made me laugh, thank you :)

As everyone has said, trust the plan and have faith in yourself. Go slow, real slow and before you know it you will have done it :)

You will be amazed how easy you will manage it. The program has prepared you well. Trust in it and just go for it.

You will find going back to walk/ run harder or at least I did.

I am now on Wk9R2 and also felt like you once.

Keep it up you are doing great 👍🏃‍♂️

I ran it by mistake, should have done W5R2 instead, so I didn’t have time to worry about it. My mind was thinking there’s no way I can do 20 mins non-stop, that’s crazy! So I thought I’d see how far I could get and guess what... it was the full 20 mins! Like everyone says, it’s not as bad as it seems. Give it a go! You’ll be over the moon when you’ve done it 😊

I dreaded this run from the beginning 😂.

Set off slow and steady and you’ll be amazed at yourself.

When jo said in my ear I’d done it, I threw my arms in the air and cheered!!!

Good luck x

Your body is ready, but your mind is not ;-)

It's all in your head with W5R3.

You're looking at W4R3 as "8 minutes" - you've in fact run 16 minutes with a small break.

If you think that's scary - have a look back to the jump you made to Week 4 from Week 3 - that was MUCH bigger (from 9 minutes running to 16 minutes) - it's the biggest jump of the whole program but you managed it fine I bet ;-)

You'll be fine!
