Recently read an article with top tips from pro runners for new runners and the two things that have stuck with me are

1) remember your ‘why’ and hold onto that - why did you start running

2) positive mindset - your training/running will be much more enjoyable than if you are battling negative thoughts

I ran 3.5K this morning across the quiet fields and in the misty drizzle. Stormzy was my music of choice. It was one of most enjoyable runs to date. So nice when everything comes together. 🙂

Glad you enjoyed it SGR, good runs are the best 😁

And yes, runs are so much easier and more fun if you can manage a positive mindset starting off 👍🤞

So true , having a positive attitude really helps and look at the great run you had. 😊😊

Absolutely! No 1 is cricital. Our reason doesn't usually change so it's great to remind ourselves along the way, and after, of why we wanted to do it at all.

I must try more Stormzy music! I'm still stuck on Eminem! 🤣

Marshall Mathers is still hard to beat if you’re in the mood for rap/hip hop 🎤

The beats are ideal for long trail runs too... I'm always happy when 8 miles and running comes on a random playlist especially if I'm well in excess of that number 🤣

Good reminder, made me think. not sure of the answer it was a snap decision but we have many reasons for keeping going out and running, not least the stronger legs and smaller waist, who wouldn’t be positive about that?

Number 2 is sooooo true. I'm just doing a version of C25K for the second time (after a long period of injury) - and this time I'm loving every run for what it is and looking forward to every run for what it might be.
