So after graduating on Saturday I came down with a stinking cold... Blurgh... Really tried on Tuesday and was a bit blah so only ran for 10 mins and walked home. Listened to my body.
Then yesterday off on a work trip, felt bit better, tiny cough remaining and super nice gym in the hotel. Okay I can do this. 6am, first treadmill run since I was a teenager, 4k in 25 mins, shorter run as didn't want to push it. Can definitely see why people say treadmill is easier sometimes but it was nice not to be in the cold air and dark morning. May investigate further for my winter runs. As I go early to accommodate work, I am becoming way more aware of how dark and how vulnerable I am but don't want that to stop me.
Never thought I'd be able to run, changed that!
Never thought I'd be a gym goer, let's change that!

Good morning Buddy34, I meant to tell you that not only I am a runner as you are and know that I am, but every Thursday morning since January I have been a member of the Cumbernauld Walking Club, we meet at Broadwood Leisure Centre every Thursday at 10.30 am and walk 4.5K round, Broadwood Loch, there is also a group who meets a Drumplier every Tuesday morning at the same time, I once went on that walk, it's not the same course as the parkrun on Saturday, after that walk there is a cup of tea or coffee at Drumpellier Golf Club. The distance on both Thursday and Tuesday is much the same, the Tuesday walk is a fraction longer, not much.
There is nothing better AllMorr than getting out running and walking and meeting new people. The other day I was looking online and see there is a 5k charity run around Broadwood stadium in December for Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus. Is that where you run sometimes
Just back from my walking Thursday morning club, the one on a Tuesday meets at 10.30am at Drumpelliier car park, after the walk they take a short car drive along to Drumpelliier Golf Course Club House where they have tea or coffee and cake.
On October 10th last year I ran a 5K in 32.23 on the exact same course as that December Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus you mention, I was a spectator, cheering the runners on. π ππΎ
Thanks for posting (not long at all!). I've been wondering about trying out the treadmill at my gym too. Maybe justify those monthly fees at last. A bit worried it may be boring and relentless, but I'll give it a go. Happy running!
I had a podcast on and just went for it. Had a fiddle with my pace as I didn't really know how fast I run anywhere, let alone while partially sick. It was great though, enjoyed the actual doing it instead of the alternative which would have been to not do it
