Evening

After graduating last Tuesday I have done two consolidation runs and I am finding the 30 mins running very comfortable.

My next run is scheduled for Tuesday and I have listened to the C25K+ podcast for stepping stones which has taken my interest so gonna see how it goes on Tuesday. It may or may not work for me, only time will tell but I miss having Laura with me on my runs :)

Has anyone else used these during their first few weeks after graduating and did they help?

Think for the next few weeks you are better concentrating on 30 minute runs 3x per week for now. Then you can go on to running the c25k+ podcasts. 😊

I opted for the C25K+ podcast on my first run after graduation. For me, I liked it. Not sure I managed to stick to the BPM exactly, I find I was counting odd numbers on my right foot, then mysteriously started counting odd numbers on my left foot 🤪

The hardest part was keeping up the pace when I hit the hills so if you've got a flat route then you'll no doubt do better than me

Look forward to hearing how you get on! I may follow suit for motivation 🏃‍♀️

My advice , is that ,as we give to many new graduates, you need more. consolidation runs first.

Your running legs are new. C25K was just the beginning...and the + podcasts although terrifically useful and fun,are challenging.

Many folk do use them too soon and then, either miss the point of them or struggle and dismiss them.

The podcasts teach us discipline in our running and a couple of weeks of consolidation, with plenty of 30 minute runs and some short too, and the lovely longer runs which build up stamina and strength, will make all the difference.

Thank you, I have decided to stick with the 5k (I do this in about 32 mins) for a few more weeks then in November try the podcasts to move things forward. :)

Sounds good to me, but do mix the runs up... get some shorter faster runs in too and the long runs... they build up distance and speed.. :)
