Hello gang!

How are you all feeling after a week of Questing? Tell us all about it!! 😊😊😊

I am still feeling somewhat bedraggled - a bit like the little dog in the picture! I'm getting there though... πŸ˜„

What is the Quest?

The aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.

This Quest will run all the way through October!

You can join at any point during that time.

I ask that you are a C25K Graduate before joining the Quest. The reason for this is that pre-graduation your week is very much structured according to the C25K programme, and I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.

Some popular goals are:

β˜… To run three times a week

β˜… To slowly increase distance

β˜… To train for a specific race

β˜… To add Stretch and Strength exercises to your weekly routine

This is a personal challenge, so it's completely up to you! Set yourself an achievable goal and have fun with it 😊😊😊 NEED SOME INSPIRATION? Take a look at Iannodatruffe's wonderful What Next? guide for C25K graduates:

If you want to join the Hello October Quest, all you have to do is comment below with something like:

I would like to join the Quest, or, count me in! I want to ..............

Every week of October I will put up a new post and we can all chat about how we are doing, share tips, and motivate each other - it’s going to be awesome!!! πŸ˜ƒ

Enjoy your Quest!

I ran to the letter of my plan in all runs as promised. Well, kinda... I snook an extra in at Lyme park, and it wasn’t run at conversational pace, so that was a little falling off the wagon.

I did plank and I did the strengthening work... and I did just walk one of the days.

So, this week I’m adding β€œno extras” onto my quest!

I would like to join the quest by introducing very low gradient hills into my runs. I historically have had knee area pain walking steep downhill for 30 years and intend to use very gentle progression to find my limit. Reaching November pain free is my target

I enjoyed the freedom of my first post grad run this morning! Consolidating with 3 runs aiming for 5k in 30 mins. Managed 5k for the first time but still at snail pace..but now I know I can run the magic 5k! Whoopee!! πŸ™‚πŸ™ƒπŸ™‚

My goal was to gradually increase distance from 5k upwards - maybe reach 6k in October.

Last week was dogged with a cold - did absolutely no exercise at weekend, and too much wine and beer! Then Monday we had to take out some work guests from Netherlands out for a meal & they wanted to try British pub food - so that clobbered the diet, though I did a 35 minute session (NHS STAMINA podcast) on the treadmill before heading to the pub, so compensated partially.

Then last night, cold mostly gone, went for a lovely relaxed run of 5.68 km in 43 minutes. I kept the pace slow - but still the first 5k was completed quicker than my first Parkrun earlier this year.

Absolutely loved every minute of it, except coming to the end because I didn't want to stop!

Could I have gone on and done 6k? Hell yes!!

Might have to revise my goal of getting to 6k in October. I really think I can do better than that.

I’m in. My quest is to run further than I did in September. With it getting dark earlier and being busier at work, I need to find a better training routine, so thanks to Strava I know I only covered 17k in September which is pretty poor. Best I stop writing and get running πŸƒπŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

I’m on track for my goal of running 3 times per week.

After a lovely (almost) 5K on Tuesday I thought today might be the day to get there. However, someone seemed to have replaced my trainers with lead boots and 20 mins running was all I could manage πŸ™ Rounded it off with a 20 min brisk walk home in the rain so I’ll take 40 mins of exercise as a win πŸ˜€πŸ‘

Let’s see what Saturday’s run brings. 🀞

Happy days today 5.1K - boom!

I’m off on a trip Mon-Fri next week so won’t be able to get any runs in then (need to travel light so no room to take the running stuff πŸ‘Ž) but may try to sneak one in Monday morning before I go. πŸ˜€

I had a lovely week 2, starting with running the walls of beautiful Lucca (5k including to and from our hotel), a mid-week run with my dog in the woods and just under 5k in the company of lovely Laura on the Stepping Stones speed podcast. So, my objectives of three runs a week including at least one 5k, and trying out the C25K+ podcasts achieved.
