We’re thinking of organising a group at work to do couch to 5K in our lunch breaks. Has anyone else done this?

Welcome aboard! Sounds an interesting idea. Please do read the guide in advance of starting

I can think of a few possible drawbacks to trying to fit it into a lunch break:

1. When will you actually have lunch? I'm guessing afterwards as you won't want food bouncing about although if you're hungry that can be as bad so maybe a banana before would be good.

2. Have you facilities if you get rather hot and sweaty?

3. Depending on ability, some people may find it easier than others, doing it together can mean some feel held back whilst others feel too pushed.

Do let us know how you get on though, there's no doubt it's a fantastic programme with multiple benefits 👍🏻😁

Yes, I have.

We've run C25K a total of 7 times and taken nearly 10% of our site through the programme, with a 60% success rate i.e., 60% of those starting actually finish it.

It's been very successful and many of the runners have continued running regularly - it's very rewarding to see.

With several run-leaders in the group, we can spread ourselves out so that there's someone at the front (faster runners), in the middle and at the back. A couple of whistles come in very handy.

Good luck!

John
