So a week ago, having done Week3, I was rather despondent about what lay ahead in Wk4 but has gone much better than I thought it would. Thanks to all those who responded last Saturday, particularly to those who said run slower. I'd not really thought about the speed of my running, I knew I wasn't sprinting but other than that I was simply running. A conscious effort on Wk4R1 to not simply belt along in the first run made a significant difference and gave me confidence for that run and in the rest of the week. My only "problem" was that my route that had for the first 3 weeks finished short of my home (after the final walk 5) is now too short, I was running when I got home and had to keep going another 50 yard then cool down. As I look into next week I feel far more positive. I have also bought new shoes, the old ones were a year old every day trainers and starting to come apart, but I now have invested in something that will be better for my feet.
