So just completed w8r3, yippee but I tried yesterday and only managed 19 mins, so tried again today and succeeded. Now had I completed the run yesterday, I would have started my final week on Sunday morning, my favourite time to run. My question then is now I am nearing the end, is it still essential to take a day off in between runs. I have read the info about recovery time but what do others do?

Today should have been a rest day for you but you've ran now so what's done is done. Rest days are really important as your body needs time to recover in between each run. You could set yourself up for injury that could put you out of running for a few weeks or more.
Great you've completed wk8 you should be so pleased well done you π
Ok that told me π, I will rest tomorrow and find an alternative time to start wk 9. Thank you for your advice π
Absolutely necessary & recommended for a full year after graduation. Donβt set yourself up for injury & then setbacks. The plan is scientifically based. Great you have completed W8!!! ππ You can taste graduation now!
You should definitely take a rest day between runs as that is when your body recovers from the micro tears caused by running. We donβt want to see you on the Injury couch.
It is advisable to run at least a year before moving on to running 2 days on the trot.
Thank you Dexy5, will be resting tomorrow after the advice received on this forum. I have followed the advice this far and it's got me to the end of wk8 in one piece π
