Now in week 6 and I notice if I run across a car park etc I now naturally fall into a nice running pattern. Which I guess is the point of this. But one other side effect is I seem to stand taller and less hunched. Any one else noticed this effect? I sort of feel taller.
Ps Tiggs I Hit the gym for my rest day and did 50 mins Hiit with weights. So 30 x 30 on the way. What did you do?? Of course no booze until October is out. π

Jogging definitely helps with posture. Hence you feel taller. Moreover, you probably are taller.
Maths: If your back is not in right angel to the ground, then your hight is amended by the sinus of the angle.
Can you measure that angle?
1) For example stand at a door, ask someone to make a photo of you.
2) Measure the angle with an angle measurer. Measure your back (from the bending point till the top of your head). 3) Calculate the sinus of the angle. If it is 85Β°, correct the length of your back by 0.996. If 80Β°, correct by 0.985.
So, if you straighten your back, the 'loss' of height will be restored.
Also, when you are fitter and slimmer, the changed ratio of height and 'width' can make you look taller.
Glad you experience practical benefits of running like running in the parking lot. ππ
Glad you are noticing such big differences in your everyday life and well done on the 50 min Hiit, great start to the 30 days.
I walked 40 mins across London from where I was running training back to Paddington station (normally I would have got the bus). Got home and then did my strength and flex podcast which is really good at making you think about posture and took just over 30 mins.
Run day tomorrow... W9R1 for me so my 30 mins will all be running with an added walk at the beginning and end
I just ran Week 6 Run 2 this morning, and I am definitely noticing changes in my body at this point in the programme. For me my balance feels much more secure when walking down stairs and I can feel extra strength in my legs keeping me upright. It feels lovely.
I run with a GPS watch with HR monitor and today my HR was a steady 140 bpm and my pace was also constant and unvarying. My watch proudly informed me I had a new PB for the mile - a whole 1 second faster. It feels as though I have settled on a steady pace which I hope I can maintain in longer runs.
Looking forward to a 25 minute run on Friday, and wondering whether I will venture out of my local park for the first time. There is a 2.5 mile circular walk nearby which I often do, and which I hope will form the basis for a regular 5K run once I have completed the programme.
