Progressed through to 10k and HM and tried some other stuff also.
This is my third journey through the C25k building programme and mainly due to taking time out from running to do other things,although one out was due to overuse.
I am at Wk 3.1 for the third occasion.
I have certainly found that consecutively my pace has improved and I suppose it just does anyway if I had not had the down times.
For me I certainly find that the C25k building programme is an excellent reset programme.
Don’t have to think about it much, just go and do it and let the programme take me there.
My plan this time is to try and avoid the downtime and go all the way through to a once in a lifetime marathon this time next year.
I do not post on here too much.After repeats you feel a little homeless and for first timers it’s good to get the advice direct from the Admins.
Of course we all have different needs, but the programme and HealthUnlocked do look after you.
Personally I could never have achieved anything without both and the support of the forum.

This is a excellent forum Tbae, I fully agree with you regarding the program and healthunlocked looking after you.
Week 3 of C25K is the shortest workout of the course, its the week that many graduates, including myself started at after a short break from running, rather than going back to week 1.
Great goal you have for next year for running a marathon, 🏃 as for me, September was a good month, I got a PB parkrun time of 30.55 at Drumpelliier parkrun, Coatbridge, I also got a 10K PB of 69.23 when I ran round Broadwood Loch three times to make up the 10K distance.
That’s a great time Alan for your 5k.Still got my eye on 30 min 5k.🤔😂
Brought back some memories there, spent two years block release at Coatbridge Technical College.Took my HNC there.
I know what you are saying about week 3, feels short,🤔9 mins of running, but actually wk1 is 8 mins, and wk 2 is 9 mins.
The mix of intervals and duration both running and walking makes Wk1 and Wk2 interesting and an essential building bit, I think , if you have been out for months.It also avoids jumping from 9mins to 16 mins in Wk4 too quickly.🤔
You of course Alan have decades of fitness in your bank from cycling.⭐️👏👏
On Saturday I did not go to a parkrun, although Dunfermline is 26 miles away from where I live, I have made that my "home parkrun", I have been going walks in Pittincrief Park for over 9 years , usually on a Friday, it's door to door by bus, Drumpelliier is nearer but more awkward to get to, so on Saturday I reran run 3 of week 5 in the morning of C25K, in the afternoon I intended to walk between Bowling on the Clyde to Old Kilpatrick by the Erskine Bridge, guess what, I reran run 1 of week 1, just shows you that I have the running bug 🐛. 🏃🐛🐜.
Yesterday was the Great Scottish Run, I went into Glasgow, my goodness me, there was what looked like millions of runner's getting ready for the 10K run, it was actually 10,000, I was lucky to get a space at the at the starting line in George Square to see the beginning of the 10K., out of the 10,000 running I only saw two runners with the Vitality Parkrun T Shirt 👚.
I don't know about you taking part in a run with 10,000 runners or more, but to me it looks frightening, I could imagine myself the night before the run tossing and turning in my bed sweating it out, I can't ever see me taking part in a run with so many people in it, nevertheless it was good to be a spectator. 😊 🏃
Lovely to read your post & SO echo your sentiments about CTO5K & this amazing support network. I would not have got past week1 without the help and expertise!
Tbae , this place wouldn't be the same without members like you...you are full of wisdom and not just about running but about life, you have so much to give to us all....I too may not be still running without this forum and the admin and mentors, they have read the crap and the happys that I've posted and they still let me on!!! Lol...
