Can’t believe I’m running and enjoying the buzz after. I’m no runner and feel silly. Brought an armband and running shoes so I’m commited. So running for 3 minutes almost killed me cannot see how I’ll run for 25! Quite fit but this running lark is quite addictive and challenging. I’m 48.
Week 3: Can’t believe I’m running and enjoying... - Couch to 5K
Week 3
You are a runner so believe it. Just enjoy and go slow , also make sure you are drinking plenty water 7 days a week not just on run days.
C25k is an amazing plan and really does work you'll get lots of encouragement and support on here good luck 😊😊
Thanks. I drink so much water. I’m an active person, a gardener, play badminton and walk the dog but running is very different. It hurts and it’s so hard for me but I’m doing it and looking forward to the next!
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Enjoy your journey
53 and end of week 4. Feel better than I did after week 3 so keep the faith. Starting to look leaner as well 🤔
Don’t worry too much about the end! Tackle one run at a time & you will get to the end!! You are doing SO well👏👍
Ah once you've felt "the buzz" you're definitely an addict!
Don't worry about how you're going to get to 25 or 30 mins. I think everyone does. Starting on Week 1 I'm thinking 1 min at a time is doable but OMG how am I going to do 20 all at once in Week 5.
But amazingly the program prepares you for it - your stamina will increase week on week. With each new week, I'd start dreading the new challenge, but then find to my amazement that it wasn't that much of a challenge after all, but was completed with ease.
If running for 3 minutes almost killed you - as I'm sure many people will have said - just slow down. It doesn't matter how slow you go. Run at a speed where you could hold a conversation easily.
Good luck and keep enjoying the buzz. It's a great feeling isn't it? Definitely worth psyching yourself for a run to get to the buzz place!
Well done, I agree the buzz is great and so addictive. Staying injury free is the key, it’s so frustrating when you have to take time off to heal.
