C25K W3R1 very different

an interesting run that has a few serious question attached. For the non techno man he was glad he had his phone available to make a call.

I was starting my 2nd 90 sec run when I spotted someone laid out on the path . a lady got there just before me . quickly accessing the situation I made a 999 call.

my first problem was how to describe where we were we were in what is called the old show field. the operator appeared to get where we were , I told them there was no way of getting an Ambulance to the girl.

so while waiting for the ambulance / paramedic we came to a conclusion that she possible cracked a rib as she seemed to get worst , the other lady called 999 and the said go to nearest defibulator, Not sure we needed it I decided to run to the one not too far a way. while on the phone ( that's what its for) trying to get a code to unlock the cabinet I spotted the paramedic a got her attention . she appeared to have no real idea where the girl was so I got in with her and got her to the closest place , she was looking for a way to get closer. so first question was what information was see given , and did she listen as she did not listen to me.

we got to the girl and as her family was there I decided to run on home.

so my 2nd questing is , if this was a more serious accident and more in the middle of the field how would they cope. there are locked gates at 2 entrance with no info on . and this is where a new park run has started up, maybe the gate is open for the park run but I guess its not need to be.

I used a bit of judgement to say I completed the W3 R1as I did go the long way home.

you will never know what a run will turn into.

All the more reason for carrying your phone.

Well done, hero of the day.

😇SO glad it was sensible you, with your phone there to help. I am sure both the lady and paramedics very grateful. An eventful way to start W3. Hope you have a quiet uneventful 3:2

Sounds like an interesting run, have you heard of the app “what3words” it can pinpoint a fairly exact point and the emergency services will use it to find a casualty.

There’s a thing called what3words, which has given every 3m square in the world a unique 3-word address. I did read somewhere that emergency services would now ask for this - can anyone confirm?

But well done you on taking sensible action.

What I meant by “thing” is an app that you can download to your phone - brain hasn’t had enough coffee yet!

I thought about that myself but the non techno part of my brain logged it away somewhere .

they never asked me this . maybe someone knows more?
