If you read the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... it states that there is no need to make any changes to a good, balanced, broad based diet.

I haven't changed my diet at all and I food optimise as I have lost 2.5 stone this year. The only thing i have changed is my water intake :)

I’ve changed my diet. I find that the running motivates me to eat better as I don’t want to undo all my good work.

I don’t like following a diet, so I don’t do fad stuff. I’m just aware of my calories and have started snacking on fruit rather than rubbish. I still have treats/ wine etc when I want as I find denying myself makes me not stick to a plan. I just eat/drink rubbish less. I’ve lost just under 2 stone whilst doing the plan (finished a couple of weeks ago, and now doing 30 min runs).

The word diet for me means the short term. I changed what I eat for the rest of my life . The food that I ate was never a problem. It was the chocolate I had and the amount I was addicted.

Starting c25k was for fitness but also to get the weight off i put on when stopping smoking . So I logged everything I eat in the Samsung health app . Lot and lots of water is a must .😊😊

I would eat loads and i mean to the point I was embarrassed and would hide the chocolate wrappers. In May 2018 I cut out all chocolate. Done some brisk walking 7 days a week then started c25k in October. Now if I want chocolate I have 1 small bar and not the full multipack 😂

“Diet”

I’ve been a member in the past of slimming world groups & I’m a vegetarian so I eat lots of fruit- veg- rice - pastas but don’t get me wrong I also snack on rubbish hence the need to join slimming world.

Ive learned that I can’t eat takeaways because my body can’t tolerate the greasy foods without making me poorly!

Over the years with slimming world, I’ve come down from a size 24 to a 16 following the Food optimising plan - I’m Still not where I want to be yet! but this challenge is a good motivator for me.. I believe that changing your “diet” is your choice but you have to find what suits you & it has to be something you can realistically keep to. No dramatic changes just small steps is good progress. 😁

I ate a good balanced diet anyway, and made no changes on the plan. After that when I started running longer I had to eat a little more to maintain my weight... overdid it a little and gained half a stone... so now I run a little further than that 🤣
