Sore lower back

Lardybumneedstorun profile image

So I've woken with a really sore lower back following my first run.

I suffer from a sore back anyway since carrying my first child 2/3 years ago. I had a nerve issue with my leg and it never really got better.

Any stretches or exercises I should be doing?

I'm worried the impact of running is going to make my pain worse but I really want to do this!

Just take it easy Lardybumneedstorun ...what week/run are you on??? Make sure you're doing your stretches before and after to keep things loose, if the pain gets worse though, I'd go to the Docs...fingers crossed 🤞

Only just done the first run. I'll look up some back stretches. I did some when I got back but maybe not enough.

Maybe not...but if you've only done the first run then that could be a positive sign because it could just been that you've used some muscles that you haven't use for an long time...keep doing the stretches and see how the next one goes, maybe have an extra rest day next time out??? Always, always, always listen to your body so you're not risking injury x
