Most of us get niggles somewhere and sometimes - however I suggest you get a gait analysis done as you could have something like tight hip flexors - for which you can do some wonderful stretch and build exercises - which brings me on to “are you stretching out fully after your run? This is a critical part of the routine and it’s worth extending the stretches you do working on any tight area. Above all listen to your body!

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and includes advice on minimising impact and dealing with injury.

Starting to exercise can often reveal underlying weaknesses that may need to be addressed by extra exercises or physio, although your pain may just normal starters aches and pains.

Enjoy your journey.

Well run Piggy! All the advice you have been given helped me & the links from IannodaTruffe are excellent‼️

Try running very slowly (Japanese slow running) 🐌. It’s the best way to prevent aches and pains & breathlessness. Builds up stamina and strengthens your muscles etc

Good luck and well done.. i was the same when I started follow advice on guide plan and slowly does it.. it does get easier .. good luck and happy running 🏃‍♀️

Hi Piggy, I've also just done W1R3 and got hip pain after first run. After the 2nd and 3rd runs I did the stretches here nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h.... Much less pain after 2nd run and hardly any after 3rd.

Sometimes when we start a new exercise we get some aches . Hopefully they won't continue. Lots of walking on rest days can really help. Well done you 😊
