Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

If you cannot actually walk 5k at the moment, then you may need to build up to the first week of C25K. In the guide you will find a link to the Active 10 walking programme, which is a great way to set the groundwork. It is advisable to be able to walk 5k at a reasonably brisk pace before attempting to run.

Many have started off in your situation and gone on to transform their lives.

Enjoy your journey.

Hi Jammiek I to am new and did my first run yesterday I need to lose 4 stone. It was hard but after I was on a high all day. I'm a bit achy today but still proud of myself. You can do it stay positive. Goodluck

Trust the program, it really works! I remember my first time, I was so unsure I could run that I did it running round in circles in my back garden! Ruined the lawn of course, but it gave me the confidence to go out for the 2nd run and last week I graduated. Good luck!

Welcome along ! I’m carrying an extra person in fat myself (I call it Ethel) and I managed, so you definitely can. Take it slow and steady, always repeat if you don’t conquer the requirements of a run first time (frustrating, but great for your strength and stamina), and always remember the First Rule of C25k: The only run you fail is the run you don’t go for ! Have fun out there. We’re all here cheering you on x

Good luck, Jammie! First thing I would say to you - change that mindset of yours.

" I don’t believe l will ever be able to run 5k "

YOU WILL! If you stick with it, one day you will. I'm six stone overweight but I've just finished Week 5. It was bloody hard, I won't lie but I did it. You will be able to as well when the time comes. 👍
