Running around Carbis Bay

I’m about to spend 5 days in Carbis Bay in Cornwall, and ideally would like to run whilst I’m there. However it’s quite (very!) hilly. Does anyone know anywhere suitable and relatively flat that I could run there? I don’t want to have a five day break now I’m in the habit of running! Thanks

When I was on holiday in St Ives, I ran on the beaches as it's just all so hilly round there. It is quite a workout running on sand but I managed OK (was on Week 4) and think definitely easier than tackling those very steep hills. There are some nice woods behind the Tregenna Hotel if you want somewhere shady.

Thanks. How did you get into the woods? I seem to recall it all looks like private grounds of the hotel.

It is their private grounds but there is a public footpath through it. My parents used to live nearby and would often have a wander round the woods, I can't imagine anyone would mind you running there. There is also a gym with treadmill that you could probably pay to use.

If you’re on Strava have a look at the “segments” for that area and contact previous runners for advice - I’ve just done that for where we’re going in Italy and am glad I did as it’s quite hazardous apparently for 🏃‍♂️!

Ooh, great idea. Where are you going that is dangerous in Italy? I'm imagining you jogging up Mt Etna!

😂😂😂😂 no just outside Sorrento but the hotel is up a big hill, no paths and apparently the village has very narrow paths plus loads of traffic (especially mopeds!) whizzing around.....so thinking that pool, pizza, pasta, Podcasts & Peroni might be my “exercise regime” for the next fortnight!

Sounds good to me! Don't forget the gelato too, loads of goodness in 🇮🇹 ice-cream! 😂
