I am 57 and carrying about 2 stone more than is good for me. My husband is 69 and has a bit of a tummy but otherwise not overweight. We are both on week 7 and have followed the programme to the letter and have to say we are doing really well. My issue is that my husband finishes fresh faced with hardly a bead of sweat, whereas I finish a red sweating beacon (and continue sweating for at least half an hour!). Anyone else sweat this bad? My breathing is good and I am really enjoying the runs so not a biggie, just curious if others have the same issue?

Another sweaty tomato here : )
I think there are alot of us. On my longer runs at weekends I don't bother getting my shower until half an hour after my run cos it's not worth it 😂
I proper sweats for England, actually we don’t sweat we sparkle I think you’ll find 😄 I have friends who are established runners and some who carry not an ounce of extra baggage sparkle like loons. So I don’t know that it’s a measure of fitness necessarily 👍🏻
Great that you're both doing c25k together and yes I sweat really heavy and yes the tomato face also but I don't care I'm out and running . So be proud of your sweaty red face 😊😊
I am a sweat machine. When I run I sweat buckets and after a run I have a lovely bright red after glow. I too hold off until about 20-30 minutes after a run before I have a shower. I have lost over 2 stone in weight and run at least 5K 3-4 times per week and now that I’m fit and healthy I don’t sweat nearly as much during the normal day time, however I sweat just as much when I run.
I have 2 boys, one guy hardly sweats at all and you’d never know if he’d done a 5K run whereas the other guy sweats loads and his face would be bright red just like me.

I also sweat a lot, but as a very heavy woman and of a certain age, I kind of expected it. Have to say that my skin looks much better once I get it all washed off - look on it as detoxing 😂
I used to, but it is getting better! But I run using the Japanese slow jogging technique, so that really helps with not being too sweaty!
Here’s the short film of it if you’re interested!
I think it's just an individual thing. I'm older and larger than the average runner but never sweat or turn red, while I know thinner younger runners who turn beetroot and sweat buckets.
I'm 53, 8 stone wet through, puff and pant like I smoke 40 fags a day and sweat buckets 💦
And really well done to you both! Sounds like you're doing great!
You are not alone, I always look like a big red tomato after running🥵🥵
I’m sweaty. I get salt crystals all over my face too. I always drink an electrolyte drink after a run to replace lost salts. Something like SIS electrolyte tablets.
