so was out this morning, doing the stamina podcast and pondering life when I see 2 tiny dogs and their owner in the distance. I called out morning and she smiled but didn't call her dogs to her. I slowed down to go past and that was that.... or so I thought. not even 10 paces on, 1 of the dogs ran after me and i thought he'd jumped and scratched my butt really hard and deep. he ran back to his day dreaming owner and i carried on rubbing butt cheek. quite a sight im sure.
anyway get home and congratulate myself for another victory and then check butt only to see I'd been bitten!! so now have plastered on savlon and plotting revenge for next time. he won't catch me and I'll have a few words with owner!!
happy running guys xx

Trying to enjoy your run and you get bitten. There are to many irresponsible dog owners , I'm not one of them . Think it's worth while phoning your doctor to get it washed out properly and depending on your age you mat need a tetanus jag . 😊
How awful I agree the owner should be reported as it could be a child. I also agree get it seen by a doctor and sorry but take a picture of the bite as evidence
Nasty buggers, annoying dogs too 🤣 way too many dog owners have no idea. I've had conversations with some who immediately try to transfer the blame (it's cause you're running/wearing a visor/wearing bright gear... yes really!) No one wants to take responsibility anymore. They shouldn't be allowed pets, or children for that matter.
Hopefully you'll have no ill effects. Def report it.
As a police officer on career break, on reporting an incident log would be created with as much detail as you can provide. If there are more reports of similar nature involving same person and dog then she would get a visit assuming she could be located...probs by neighbourhood police or pcso initially (assuming there, are any left) she would likely get a warning but would be on the radar to take better care.
Agree it should be logged if nothing else...in case it is a child next time.
Unless the dog is a banned breed then its treated totally different.
Some dog owners are irresponsible, yes, we put up with them crapping everywhere, but not biting, watch that wound, hopefully it'll be OK with Savlon, I was bitten on the hand as a boy when I tried to stroke a stray dog, I should have known better, but was young.
Anyway, I had to go to docs for injection in the backside, probably for tetnus.
I have other stories about encounters with dogs when running, but they're for another time.. 😁
I was about to say you need to see a doctor and then I realised you already have! - Very wise. We once waited 24 hours to deal with a dogbite at the end of a holiday rather than risk missing our plane home – it was a big mistake that I wouldn’t repeat.
Sending you a big hug, sympathy and a few human grrrrs instead! Xx
Good you've been treated 1 but really? I have a rescue dog who is terrified of dogs, not keen on lorries but absolutely loves people. Even so, even before I became a shuffler, I mean a runner, if a runner was approaching us I would put him on a short lead close to me. Dogs get excited and can be unpredictable and as an owner it is my responsibility to ensure he is under control. What's happened to you is disgraceful. Would hope you get an apology at the very least. If not report them as who knows what it could do next. Seriously can't believe the negligence of the owner!
I've walked my route everyday at the same time and not seen them again. beginning to think that the owner knew her dog bit me and is avoiding the area.
