Oh dear πŸ™ˆ. Well that run didn’t go as expected. Thought cos I could do 20 mins, this will be easy! Ahh, no. A bit gutted but trying to be objective. 1. I’ve been a bit slack with 3 runs a week. Up until a couple of weeks ago i was pretty good but life and other things have distracted me. 2. Took a different route today with lots of fast runners going past me. Tried to stay slow but it was hard. 3. A couple of times I was running into the wind - now that ain’t easy! 4. I think I was getting a bit cocky. Do not overestimate ones running ability πŸ™ˆ. This is a 9 (ish) week plan after all.

Still, I did the first 5 min run, then 4 mins of the 8 plus the last 60 seconds of the 8 mins, then the last 5 so not a complete fail but how I can do well at 20 and naff at 8? That’s a puzzle πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

One twenty minute run does not a runner make...........

That run catches many out, but objectivity and positivity will win the day.

It’s given me a bit of a kick up the posterior tbh. I probably needed it πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚

Don't know why , nearly everyone comments on that run after being able to run 20 minutes non stop the previous week . Don't worry have a rest day and try again . Put it down to a practice run . Good luck 😊

Glad I’m not the only one. Has brought me back down to earth with a bit of bump but trying to take positives πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

It’s a funny one that run, i’d seen it catches a lot of runners out so was prepared and went slower ur still found it hard

You did ok so you are progressing

I think it was a combo of a lot of things that affected it. It’s just one run eh? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ˜Š

Yes treat it as a practise run and the next one will be better

I struggled with it too even though I’d picked it out as a tough run before I started the plan! Don’t worry about it, you’re far from alone. Keep that pace down when you go again, the intervals look easier than the 20 minutes but they add up real quickly... and because we perceive it as easy, there’s a tendency to set off a little faster than we should.

Yes and I think there being more people around me as well as fast runners, I just could find my groove. Will go to my usual haunt for Wednesdays run πŸ€”πŸ˜Š

I think I suffered from no 4 too... at least you’ve not injured yourself as I did. Next time you will be forewarned and forearmed: next time you will complete it! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Pre W6 all was Ok. W6 was challenging but also the turning point as all went well from then on.

How did you find it a turning point Skeg? πŸ€”πŸ˜Š

Although up to W5 was Ok I still had doubts I could finish the course. Once through W6 I was highly confident I could complete the course and I did πŸ™‚
