So before going away I was at w8r3 and I pushed myself to do the 5k.been trying to run on holiday but struggling to do 3.5k.(prob the beer and bad food!) Should I go back a few weeks on the plan and slowly build up again? If so how far?

Just keep running... don't push at all... get to the 30 minute runs having had fun :) Continue where you left off, steady and slow and enjoy the last runs to the podium :)

You lose next to no condition in the first two weeks of non running, so unless you were away longer than that, just pick up where you left off.

Your experience shows the importance of proper preparation.
