Is 21mph wind too much?

Hi. I am meant to do my graduation run today (now) which is great but the wind is 21 mph. Should I just go or wait until tomorrow and probably run in the rain?

Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks.

Is it causing damage, branches falling and sates and debris etc.. ? Can you run in a clear area... if it is safe... then the only issue maybe running against the wind..:) 21 mph is really only a fresh breeze:)

Go for it:)

Thanks I will go.

Go and enjoy it... the badge is waiting... and if there was any issue... the Park run would be cancelled:)

OK. I’m going for it thanks for the encouragement.

That is brilliant..absolutely! Folk would love that time for any Park run..!

in reply to Oldfloss

Oh Thanks. I was really slow compared to most people and I came 412 out of 438. Anyway I was just happy to get round and do the 5K.

Many folk never run 5K in 30 minutes...you are doing wonderfully...and enjoyment is what it is all about...:)

Thanks. At the moment the bit I enjoy most is stopping 😊. I am determined to carry in though.

If there is a weather warning for your area, maybe postpone it.

Do you have a parkrun near you? That would be a great way to graduate!

in reply to JaoJao

Thanks for replying. Yes there is one and I have registered for it but felt a bit nervous about running with others as I’m quite slow. Also with the wind and running on grass I thought that would make it even harder.

It starts at 9 so I have time.

Getting ready to go. 😊

Please go! Parkrun is for everyone! Today will be my 10th and I’m briefing the visitors and first timers in a volunteer role, I hope you get a similar welcome! Good luck xx

Just wondering, do I do my 5 min warm up walk before I get to the start line?

in reply to Tasha99

Thank you. I did it and I ran the whole thing. 😊

in reply to JaoJao

Thanks for encouraging me to do the park run. I did it and ran the whole 5k despite my 30 mins being up some way from the finish line.

So glad I posted today or I definitely wouldn’t have done the park run and I absolutely will keep doing them.

Thank you

Well done on your graduation! And your first parkrun! Double celebrations!

Parkrun is so addictive, it will be a great inclusion to your running routine and you’ll naturally want to work on your running.

It’s so great when your result comes in by email and you can check out your results and performance as well as other cool stats!

Enjoy the journey... because it’s only just begun!
