Howdy fellow runners. Well yesterday was day 1 of the couch to 5K and today I'm feeling it. My soft girly feet decided to erupt in a veritable smorgasbord of blisters, rubs and general sore bits, my lower spine appears to have aged several decades and my legs bones are made from jelly. I also swore several times at Sarah Millican which seems very unnecessary now. This morning though I feel pumped and ready to tackle tomorrow's run (read slow jog/crawl) how is everyone else finding it?

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and is full of tips including advice on footwear, which it sounds like you need to address.
Enjoy your journey.
I love your attitude! Hang on in there, follow the shoe advice, and run even slower. Yes, even slower than that. This is the key to this thing - slow is happy. Fast can come later.
👏👍
But despite all that you did it and are looking forward to the next one! Well done on getting the hardest part done and don’t worry about your speed- this is about endurance so embrace upside inner snail and enjoy it!
I swear by Karrimor padded running socks - great for preventing blisters. There's extra padding on the heel and the sides which really helps.
Congratulations on starting the programme! I agree with good running socks, they make a massive difference until you feel ready to buy good running shoes.
It’s not easy at the beginning is it? I am having a second go at week 1 as I didn’t fare too well. I will be doing day 2 later this afternoon when it’s cooler. Enjoy your day off. It makes a big difference! We will get through this together. These voices in our ear urging us on and guiding us through are excellent motivation.
