Travel to C25K location?

So I’ll be starting week one in a couple weeks. Scoped our my planned location to do the training, which is my local park. The park is about a 20min walk from my house. I was planning on walking to the park then starting the app. Is this a good idea? As I’ll be adding a 40 min walk onto each session. Should I be looking to start from my door or transport to the park? Eventually the aim will be to run from my door around the park and back as the is about 5k (I can loop around my estate to make up difference)

I walk to the park near to where I live, it's only a 3 minute walk, however, the route I do most of my 5'ks is a 10 minutes walk to the start, you are better just to walk that 20 minutes to the park, that is quite a distance from where you live, anyway, at five minutes from the park start the app, there is a short introduction from your coach then there is a five minutes warm up walk, as you have already been walking for 15 minutes, get it started so once you are in the park your runs start.

Yeah. That was my plan. Hopefully my legs hold out on the walk back lol. Once I get further into the weeks I don’t mind starting closer to home. I just don’t want to do those early runs on the streets starting and stopping running like an idiot.

No I won't ever run in the street, you are correct in only running in the park.

I just do the warm up walk in my neighbourhood and do the running in the fields nearby. The grass is easier just now as I’m only on week one :) eventually I’ll run the pathways and around the park

How are you finding it? I’m kinda looking forward to getting starting, been looking at trainers etc, going to get them next weekend. I may not be quite as positive after week one. I wouldn’t class myself as unhealthy but I’ve not done any exercise since I was forced to at school lol. So I will deff need to build up my fitness.

I’m the same, and I have fibromyalgia so any high intensity exercise is agony for me. But despite the aches and pain, I’m really enjoying it. It feels good being outside and afterwards my body feels great! I’m trying to lose a bit of weight but more focused on getting my head in a good place first.

I’ve been using my old Skechers just now, I didn’t want to spend too much until I knew I liked it haha!

I’m kinda going with if I spend the money it may give me more motivation to stick with it so I don’t waste the money lol. Yeah I think my motive for running is more for mood benefits and to just have an activity to do outside of work. The fitness benefits will be a bonus.

You will be amazed what running can do for physical and mental health. It's amazing 😊

As long as you do a 5 minute warm up walk and 5 minute cool down at the end just do what suits you best. Good luck😊
