I've completed the couch to 5k a few weeks agon and have continued running trying to increase the distance slightly. However I have now got pain in my left leg which eases slightly while I'm running, but us incredibly bad after resting and then weight bearing. At times it feels as if my bone is about to shatter. After a night's sleep I limp out of bed, finding it painful to even put my foot down. I've rested for a week (been on holiday and only walked) but its getting worse. I was due to run in a 5k race today (1st ever) but really don't know if I can. I have been stretching before and after runs but obviously hasn't done the trick. Can anyone suggest something that may help and allow me to continue running?

You really need to see a doctor now and do not do anymore running until your pain has gone away. Good luck 😊

Agree with Buddy - get to the docs.

Absolutely agree. If it's getting worse stop running and see a doctor. Stretching is not the panacea for all injuries!

As above... seek a medical opinion... some injuries need rest, some need movement, stretching helps some... but can make others worse. It’s always worth the trip to the GP/Physio.
