Sorry all but this is just a vent off post, I’ve had such amazing support on here, I’m currently taking some time out to rest the groin/hip pain as recommended by many of my VRBs but oh my god I’m going out of my tiny mind!!! How on earth has running become this bloody important to me?? It is literally all I can think about! And not being able to is bloody awful!! Anyway rant over, for all of you out there still running enjoy it you lucky buggers 😂😂😂😂

Not running sucks! We feel you pain.

Are you doing any cardio? There’s some seated exercises that can give you a good endorphin fix without affecting the injury. Have a google, but be sure to watch them through before attempting them, some use the legs more than they should.

I’ve been advised that cycling is ok?? It’s just not the same though 😂

No it’s not... but maintaining that cardio fitness and especially using the legs is only going to help the comeback... and cycling will send more blood to the injured area to aid recovery too.

I know , running is so important to me now rich . I've been lucky not to have any major problems on the injury front so long may it continue. Rest up mate and don't rush into it and cause yourself more aggro. You'll get there in the end 👌✌✌

Just shows how much you love running and miss it unfortunately because you have a injury, I think I would also miss it if I had not ran for more than two weeks, as it is although I can run I am missing my parkrun on Saturday morning, between the rain and it being cancelled because of a event in the park I have missed two weeks, hopefully a week tomorrow I will run my second parkrun., I hope your injury will heal quickly and you can get back to running soon.

Doing anything rather than nothing really does help, if nothing else it makes you feel like you're doing what you can.

You'll be back 👍🏻😉😁

Ha ha...that is so true! But since I have been running...(and suffered time on the IC) I have oodles of it.

On thing is for sure ...the runs always wait.

Would aqua running help you? You ‘run’ upright in the swimming pool. I tried it when I was on the IC and I’ve been doing it to strengthen a weak right leg. It’s featured in chapter 6 of the 2013 Runner’s World Guide to Running. It might at least make you feel you’re not doing nothing.

(Does owning that make me an addict?!)

Sorry to hear you’re feeling the disappointment rich, I’ve been there and it’s completely crap. You WILL come out the other side of it and be stronger and appreciate your runs much more. Rest up kiddo, it’ll be over before you know it.. maybe don’t torment yourself with online articles unless you want to read them for the sheer joy of it and not just to rub salt into your wounds?😜 🤪

Awww bless, that’s rubbish. I can imagine it’s so frustrating. Like you I now seem to be a running addict, already looking for local ParkRun to my holiday spot and if anyone had told me even 12 weeks ago I would be running 5k in the morning before work I would have proper lolled!! Rest that groin... ooh er ... and fingers crossed you’ll be back on it soon 👍🏻
