Really awful picture of me in Shock after 'fast' run!

Central Portugal - July 2019!

OK, so I'm in bed having a rest, it's over 20 deg outside and the sun is shining; I've had a lovely lie-in as I worked hard yesterday; but haven't been running as much as I'd've liked this week.

I'm stetching my lovely newly-muscled legs out admiring the lack of celluite, flexing my foot thinking hmm, it hurts a bit, hope the plantar faciitis isn't coming back... I really must go for a run, but it's past mid-day... and getting hotter....

Oh well, you know what they say about mad dogs and English (wo)men! So I put on my lycra, find my running shoes (always a way to get my mad-dogs to go crazy)... and do my stretches in my now plus 27deg heat I press my garmin watch to GO ... and I'm off...

Not bad... where is that toxic 10? nice breeze if I trot along at a pace... dogs don't look like their feet are burning so that 's a good sign...

Glance at my 'pace'....er, that can't be right.. it's says 6. something! (my fastest ever 1k has been 7:24)...

I keep going... breathing is fine, but not 'easy'... but very manageable. I go a wee bit faster! Hey what is going on.... perhaps I should go for my fastest 1k and then walk back?

I get to my 1km! I've smashed my 1k record! I turn round, to go back (slightly up hill).... I DO slow down, as it is harder and I have been pushing myself...

Dogs look relieved that I've turned round at this point as obviously 2k is a 'shorty' for them.

I keep on going... remembering some of my intervals in my Couch to 5k journey, feeling that red glow on my face that I so remember from my 'early' days! I slog on up that incline...

Then my watch vibrates to tell me I've done my two, so I press buttons to stop and save and blow me down with a feather! I've done 2.01k's in 14:40 with a 7:18 average!

What is going on? In this heat? Am I mad, is my Garmin broken?

I literally can't believe it - hence the scary picture... may be next time I should put a pic of my 'lovely new' legs instead!!!?

LOL
