Going back to a previous week.

This week, I moved my running from a treadmill to outside. Partly because there are workmen redoing the roof, and the bitumen fumes are awful, but also because I can't be self-conscious about my fitness and exercising forever.

It turns out that, while jogging outside, I get anxious and that puts a massive dent in my endurance. Although the Summer heat doesn't help, either.

So, I'm probably going to go from W7 back to W4, to give myself a chance to adjust and find my groove again. It's a bit disheartening to backtrack, but it's also disheartening to dramatically fall short of my goals on all three runs.

Welcome to the great outdoors! Well done getting out there. It’s very different with having to control your pace... so if it’s going to make it feel better to you sure, drop back a little and ease your way into it again... you can do this.

Yeah, the treadmill made that really easy, with being able to just set a speed and go.

It also turns out that my treadmill paces were incredibly conservative. My walking pace was around 3.6kph on the treadmill, but outdoors it's up at around 6kph, which was actually my running pace on the treadmill, which means that my running pace outdoors is going to be higher too.

I hadn't really considered, that as an aspect, so thanks for pointing that out.

It’s possible to brisk walk and run at pretty much the same pace... so you don’t necessarily have to go faster... just keep running comfortably.

I’m guessing the treadmill wasn’t accurate, few of them are... so the difference may not be so big really.
