Week 7 Run 2 my first failed run šŸ˜„

I started my run tonight as usual but for some reason I just wasnā€™t feeling it. My calves really ached more than usual and I seemed very out of breath. To put it succinctly I felt like I just couldnā€™t be bothered. In 7 weeks this is the first time I have ever stopped during a run. I only lasted 5 mins. Iā€™m feeling really sad about it as Iā€™ve done really well. Iā€™m just going to write today off and try again tomorrow. Is any of this normal!?

Just one of those days, however, I would advise you to have one full day off running, tomorrow drink plenty of water, go for a walk, the next day run run 2 of week 7 a little slower than you did today. šŸ˜Š šŸƒ

Completely normal. Join the club! šŸ¤£ We all have gruesome runs occasionally. So many things can affect running - weather, pollen, hydration, position of the stars, how the cat feels.... šŸ˜„ I totally agree with AlMorr - take a full day off from running, drink plenty of water, do something else to stretch your muscles out, and then come back to it.

And btw you didnā€™t ā€œfailā€. If you got out the door In running gear, it was ā€œpractice & experience.ā€ šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ so there!

Totally normal. Mine was week 7 run 3 and it really was a killer. I felt so rubbish after. I think i took a couple of day off and drank loads of water then went back out again a nailed it. Its a horrible feeling but go easy on yourself. The heat is draining at the moment.

Please donā€™t be downhearted. You didnā€™t fail. View it as a practice run. Everyone has given really good advice. Mine is, donā€™t beat yourself up about it. Just go out and try again. Iā€™ve had runs where I honestly felt that I could easily give up and never run again. But I just gritted my teeth and went out for the next run as scheduled. Then, Iā€™ve had some brilliant ones. Circumstances change, so your runs will be more, or less challenging in response. You are doing SO well to have got this far. Follow the advice given by others, and youā€™ll be back on form in no time. šŸ˜Š
