Paused C25K .... advice please

I completed wk7r3 in June but have been unable to run since as my thighs are so painful. They don’t hurt when I sit, poke them or touch my toes, but walking and running are really painful. I always stretch before and after and drink loads, I have even been using a foam roller. I accept that some injuries will occur but it has been 3 weeks now and they are no better. Any advice .....?

Might be time to book a physio appointment?

Good idea, I work in a hospital so will see what I can do. Thank you Debston.

I agree with Debston, see a physio. When you are back, may I recommend this running style? It’s the Japanese slow jogging technique and is a low impact way of running designed to avoid injury. It’s a lovely slow pace, that’s meant I can now run for over an hour - and it makes the running actually pleasurable in the moment.

Even if you’re more interested in pace, I think this is an invaluable technique for us all, for post injury or long break, when a run is going badly, it’s too hot, and for extending your durations (post graduation) without risking more injury. I saw it in w6 and have been running this way ever since. Hope it helps.

Thank you DiscoRunner. I am already following this technique, but I’m getting on a bit and overweight so I’ve asked a lot of these old legs!

See what the physio says, as I’m really unsure what’s happening to those lovely legs of yours!
