C25k second time around... Garmin advice please

Yay!! I’m finally getting back on track after my ankle injury. W8R1 completed today so hopefully back to running 5k again soon πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜Š Anyway, last time i completed C25k I realised I really needed to get a running watch to easily track time, distance and pace. Well I’m going to need one hopefully soon and have been checking out the best deals. I fancy the Garmin Forerunner 45, but there are good deals at the moment for the Garmin Vioactive 3. So which one? I do use the gym as well, and would like to track my daily steps, but it will mostly be for running. it will be connected to an iphone SE, Operating software 13.3. Plus can i use my bluetooth headphones as well? Oh and if it connects to Strava too that would be handy 😊

I have the Garmin forerunner 35 and I love it . The Garmin forerunner 45 is the newer model of this . Don't know anything about the vioactive 3. I'm sure any one of them will be great .

You also download the garmin connect app on your phone then connect that to strava.

As for your bluetooth headphones I think you need a garmin that you can download music on. Good luck 😊

Just checked , if you want to download music on to the watch you will need to go with the vioactive 3.

Aw thanx. I was planning to still carry my phone with me for music But i think the 45 does have some control for skipping tracks. Just wondered if my phone can connect to both at the same time. Decisions, decisions... It will just be so easier to briefly look at a watch while running than getting out my phone to track progress πŸ˜‚ Think I will wait for better deals on the 45 to come back. The Vioactive does have lots of things i don’t need. Plus i’d rather manual buttons than swearing over a touch screen, especially with gloves on.

Well if you still plan on taking your phone the Garmin forerunner 45 will be fine .

Just play your music on your phone via bluetooth headphones and then start your watch at the beginning of your run. When you finish running stop the watch then open the garmin connect app and your run will upload and then transfer over to strava. Just remember to connect strava through the Garmin connect app😊
