Short run

Super busy day/evening today but a run day so managed to squeeze in 2km but at a faster pace then normal. Going with the better than nothing attitude and trying to stick to Tuesday Thursday Saturday run routine. Busy or not. Is this ok or should I still be aiming for 30 mins at least each run?

Shorter faster runs are fine, try to do the 30 minutes at least once a week (a couple of times a week if you've recently graduated).

Thank you for your reply. Yes I’m a newbie graduate. Feels strange now running with no rules. I did a 5k run on Tuesday and will be doing Parkrun on Saturday.

Just keep doing what you're doing, short runs can help build speed, that and, strangely, long slow runs as they build stamina.

My training plan for once I graduate again includes 1 shorter, faster run a week, some interval stuff and increasing long slow runs.

Great first tempo run.

There’s no hard and fast rule, I’d go longer with one and shorter with another, with your third run being parkrun compatible

Getting out there is good! Some people intentionally run a shorter run one day so they can build a slightly longer slow run on another. That way you don’t extend the total time each week too far too soon. 😄

Well done , there's no fixed rule enjoy your short runs and maybe one longer run now and again 😊😊

Thank you all. I was worried I would undo all the hard work. Looking forward to my first Parkrun. 2 more sleeps 🛏
