W4R1 Does it count?

Hi. Due to having arthritis in my knees I am mainly doing my ‘runs’ on a cross trainer. I use the handles during the walk phase and then speed up and pump my arms during the runs. I am hoping to attempt a 5k at the end of the plan on softish ground. Will my training work?

I reckon any exercise is better than none. Obviously you have a different experience on a cross trainer, but it is a good idea for non-impact.

I have arthritis in both knees and a torn meniscus in the right. Running has made the biggest improvement in mobility and pain relief. You need to run though. I took it really slow in the early stages. Several weeks on 'Week 2' before moving on.
