Hi I’ve just downloaded the app with the intention of learning to run. Can I really do this? I’m rubbish at running, I’ve had 2 children and this has had an affect on my bladder, Will I be able to manage a run? We’ll see. I’m going to give it a go 💪

Hello! I'm the same as you, 2 children (had the 2nd 4 months ago). I'm about a stone overweight and very out of shape. I did my w1 run 1 yesterday and am actually looking forward to doing w1 run 2 tomorrow - unheard of as I am typically extremely lazy when it comes to excercise. I found running for 60s a real challenge, but as the session when on it became easier as my body started to get into it. I am trying to get out early, 6am before I get distracted by a busy day (and before too many people are around to see me beetroot faced and gasping for breath)

Good luck!

Hi.Ii am 54 and my two 'kids' are adults now. I used to have bladder issues. I would wear a pad and not let it affect you starting this. I would also see the dr because that helped me. I am definitely rubbish at running and I am now on W2R1. Did that this morning. You can do it!

Hardest part is deciding to start in the first place. Last 12 months have seen heart surgery and a kidney transplant. Just did W5r3 his morning, after a life time of avoiding running. If I can do it, anyone can. You will a amaze yourself.

Yes you can! Have a pee before you head out and wear a pad if you are worried. I have 4 kids and my pelvic floor is not great but I have had no issues with running from that point of view. ☺

Yes you can do this! The early weeks are less than an hour so if you go before you go, you’ll be fine. I haven’t had any problem with C25K with my Aged bladder! And lots of us are rubbish at running- just take it slow (check out Japanese Slow Running on YouTube), stay well hydrated all the time and read the pinned post for newbies on this forum! And let us know how you get on!

You can do it, I'm 47 was always rubbish at sport in fact I hated it! Always said I can't run. I have 2 kids youngest 13. I'm uncoordinated and sort of stumble along! My first run was up the coming as I felt so embarrassed however once you realise no one takes any notice I go from home now as you start and finish walking no one knows you are trying to run. It's also more of a really slow jog rather than run. Get plenty of water or squash down you every day it helps. I go first thing in morning usually after a small glass of water and have a pee before. Stick a pad or panty liner on if you are worried but you may find it isn't an issue. The first run is hard I thought 60 seconds would never end but grit your teeth and you will do it, if you can't on first try have a day's rest and try again slower and you will do it. Good luck x

Yes, you totally can do it. This place is full of people who have been asking the same question and who have gone on to surprise and amaze themselves.

I am exactly the same. I could have written this post a few weeks ago!! Having two kids have also affected by bladder but surprisingly not caused too many problems with running as long as I keep a steady pace. I am running on a treadmill which has helped me. I tried a run outside but found that the uneven ground didn’t help and I’m much more comfortable and confident on a treadmill. I’ve just started week 9 today. If I can do it then anyone can. Slow and steady seems to work for me. Good luck! X

3 children here - I went to physio after my third to sort this out because 3 children in 4 years did a number on my perineal muscle. There are also, errrm, home remedies shall we say, which I won't discuss on open forum :D You can pm me if you want :D

I have a very small bladder (so my family tell me after my millionth trip to the loo!) I go before I get changed then go again before I go out to run. Usually within the first 10minutes I feel like I need to go again but I think it’s just all the jiggling up and down. Not actually had an accident yet 😂
