Had a lazy day yesterday, woke up, had breakfast and then had a nice 4.5 hour drive home and then played with the grandkids until they went home; plus a little bit of work around 8pm for an hour or so.
As usual, my body woke me at 5:45, it's run day so the internal alarm wakes me a little early (it's like my body actually loves doing this!!!). I did the usual, read a little internet news while I wake up, threw the running gear on and headed for the conservatory to where the treadmill hides.
I had a few gremlins if I'm honest, yes I know all the runs and I've done them before but the gremlins are still there from time to time, 25 minutes, that's roughly 9 songs, focus on the breathing, it's only 9 songs.
Laura then tells me I've done 5 minutes, great, that's only like 7 songs left, the gremlins were circling, their voices tempting in the back of my head, "You've had a busy week, your tired, just walk today, no-one will ever know!", the last one really got to me, I would know, I'll do one more song.
And that's how the run carried on, I did slow a total of .5 kph across the whole 25 minutes but did manage a .3 kph increase for the last minute.
Laura now tells me I'm a runner, it's obvious she doesn't know how slow I was going but I'll gladly take that accolade.
So week 6 has ended and week 7 is approaching, first time around this was a strange transition, a 25 minute run and then, essentially, 3 consolidation runs but I knew I'd just run the 25 minutes so I relaxed through week 7 and enjoyed it like I was a passenger.
Happy running everyone, I'm now off to shower and be ready for another wonderful day of work and grandkids!
