Having said to many of my VRBs "no I have no intention of running further than 5k" I have just signed up to juju's plan starting 17th June. π€¦ββοΈ By happy coincidence I am off work that week so can choose some lovely trails instead of pavement pounding. I also have my first 5k event π± the following Saturday so that fits nicely with the long run of 35 mins. I'll then walk or walk/jog to the end of the 5k.
It appears that at the end of each week juju's plan allows for a treat. So I'm thinking rather than food, (because that is not good on many levels) i will treat myself to something from Decathlon π€π€ now where's that shopping list? π€ ππ§’πππ§¦π

That sounds like a lovely reward, I just need my bank balance to catch up, although the scales say Iβm not losing weight Iβve dropped 3 dress sizes but canβt afford a new wardrobe yet.
Congratulations on the fabulous weight loss ππππππ
I've never been to decathlon but a friend swears by their own brand stuff, which looks very reasonably priced. I need some new socks so it may just be a new pair of those each week or save up my treats for a bigger item
I second Decathlon stuff. Much of my children's school sports stuff comes from their own range. It's nearly always lasted a school year.
I also recently bought my shoes from there (mynlocal one doesn't do gait analysis though). In fact, come to think of it, apart from knickers, all my running stuff comes from them, lol. No complaints so far
I was just going to write... βserendipity!!!!... and then saw what an unoriginal thought that was! Canβt wait to hear about your Parkrun experience too... and by the time the second one comes round youβll have some shiny new kit to run it in too!! ππΌπ
Yay, jogunlikely, what a brilliant idea for a treat! I'm a leftover from the last intake (got 2 weeks to go, keep catching colds π€§) so I'll see you on the other side π
π€§ that's rubbish! Hope you're feeling better. I'm starting with the timed runs rather than distance as I'm still not at 5k. Weirdly excited π€ͺ that I get to post in the grown up group
Yay, me too! (Also having said firmly that I was happy just carrying on with 3x30 min runs per week... it's going to have to be a super speedy 10k then!)
I was looking at that yesterday, so you have spurred me on to give it a try. Iβm away in Cyprus at the moment so it will be early morning for me, and I think Iβll be going for the timed runs. This morning Iβm going to have a look for a different route rather than just running around the village here.
Be great to have another VRB and we can do this together !!! Loving the treat idea at the end of each week and partner is going to buy me a weekly treat (Iβve put ideas in his head) just hoping he doesnβt visit Poundland π€£π
Its an 8 wk plan they do on Bridge to 10k forum. You can either choose to follow the distance getting from 5 to 10k. Or time getting from 30 mins to an hour's running x
Roseabi posted something yesterday on both forums. The new intake starts on 17th June. π€
So once you've graduated, sworn to the world you have no intention of running further, been on your summer hols then consolidated for a couple of weeks, you'll be just in time for the Sept intake xxx
Update: just seen it's a pinned post. Why not check it out π
