Just wondered if anyone has come across the Kaido wellness app. I was offered this by my management as a team to advocate good mental health through keeping active I guess and a leaderboard with all our shops 🏬 to be in with a chance to win a chocolate cake
The current challenge is 5k three times a week, it is just I have come across so many wellness apps and it logged one of my workouts as a 5k run as I did a HIIT class in the gym and stuff, aside from you being able to enter the steps manually and for people to cheat I am struggling to see the point in it really!

Nope you can put them in manually. I think the better points app is better as it gives you really money vouchers at some really good high street stores, no adding manual steps, but even then you can cheat. I have tricked it thinking I was driving a car going down a hill on a bicycle so you can see it’s flaws. The metric tracking on an iPhone I am led to believe it pretty sophisticated stuff but when you have to run a marathon for a £5-£10 voucher at Evans you have to ask yourself is it really worth it? The better point app could Route my journey and know if I was cycling, in a car, on public transport, running 🏃🏻♂️ etc etc
From experience with Garmin watches, knitting can add many thousands of steps... Mrs UNM wore one for the evening after reading on here about it and put my 10k run and couple of walks to shame from the comfort of her chair 🤣
I’ve yet to find a tracker where if you want to inflate your figures for some such reason you couldn’t... Strava/Nike/Garmin, the lot. Garmin even lets me edit pace and distance on a tracked run, which seems bizarre to me, I couldn’t think of a reason to do this until your post... of course it’s to cheat at such things 🤣
One must always hope that everyone you’re up against is playing it straight... unless you were cycling when Lance Armstrong was at his peak, where you just had to hope everyone was cheating equally, there’s no winners for the 7 TDFs because pretty much everyone was doping, so why ban him?!
This app may be measuring intensity rather than pure distance and some HIIT sessions may well then equate to a 5k run... and of course not all 5k runs are equal on that score either.
Hats off to your management for promoting wellbeing, and I hope there’s nobody out there abusing the edits... cheating is one thing, but faking calorie burn to get cake would be pretty counter productive!
