So, what do you do if couch to 5k continues to cut out? Is there a solution to this? Everyone saying how great it is. Well, that is not my experience. I find it frustrating that it cuts out. Is there a solution to this apart from deleting the app? I am looking to get the app working and do not need any other inspirational talk from people who have succeeded and have no app breaking down. Kind regards, John
Couch to 5k app let down. : So, what do you do... - Couch to 5K
Couch to 5k app let down.
The app is flakey and it would be good if you told the developers via your download site, otherwise they will not know.
You can always run the app in the background while you do something else, if you just want to catch up on the odd run.
The other option is the old school podcasts version of C25k, which you can find a link to in the guide to the plan. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Mine only used to stop/pause if I took a phone call or a photograph while running. It was fine if I just had that and music on.
Hey John. To be honest I don't use the app, I check the type of run on the website for each week and remember the timings. I go with an old fashioned stop watch to keep track of the time for the run-walk intervals but I know these days easy with a smart watch or phone etc. Sorry not to be much help with how to fix the app itself but from my experience you don't necessarily need the app, it's easy enough to remember the timings really and same outcome, especially as the weeks go on!
I graduated about 18 months ago, but I'd heard that there were problems with the app and I had a pretty old phone, so I just downloaded the podcasts and used those. You still get to listen to the lovely Laura, but be warned - the music is terrible!
Some phones are pretty aggressive at killing background apps. Samsung and Huawei are the usual ones to do this. You'll need to mark the C25K app as being able to run in the background. How this is done varies by phone brand.
Hi, if you are using the BBC C25K app then you can check for solutions under ‘support’ on the app. If using an iPhone try putting on ‘motion and fitness’ under Privacy settings. Have heard some mention that it worked when they had their phone on ‘do not disturb’ setting. All the best, very frustrating.
I had some glitches with mine and just uninstalled and reinstalled and works fine again now.
I have problems if I'm using my bluetooth earpods and open my app linking to my health watch, it seems the bluetooth constantly drops out as it has too many things it's trying to connect to which is more the fault of my phone. Over the weeks I've never had the problem if I don't connect to my watch. I was bought two watches for Christmas luckily, as one watch works much better than the other.
Try deleting the app and then reinstalling & then hopefully it should be ok. I remember it stopping for me a couple of times. 😀
I had this problem and it turned out to be the sensitive connection to my earphones. I held my phone instead of putting it in my pocket for a couple of runs, but switched to Bluetooth earphones and that resolved the problem. Good luck
