Today, after doing a few 'fast' runs this week my body told me to 'walk'... so I took my son, and my doggies and walked the full 5km route (the one I haven't yet run) as it's a there and back (with a slight uphill gradient return).
Embarrasingly it took me only 5 mintues longer than my single (downhill) 5km run I did about a week ago!
But my knees are thanking me and I used up calories AND, if I want to run tomorrow I can!
So listening to your body is important, and walking is good for you as well.
I will return to my running very soon.
Just wanted to share.
PB.
