Think I'm going to take a bottle with me on Saturday morning's run . So one Down two to go on week 5 and I'm loving it . Happy running people πβ.
WK5 R1 !: So that's the first run on week 5 done... - Couch to 5K
WK5 R1 !
Woo hoo! Well done! It certainly helps to make sure that you are well-hydrated the day before, and the day you run. So far, I havenβt needed to take a drink out with me, but Iβm sure thatβll change as I run for longer and the weather warms up.
I know MuddledGardener, not going to make that mistake again lol. We live and learn . Thanks for your support β
Well done gman!! ππ»πͺπ»
Thanks for your support TeeBedders ,I really appreciate it πβ.
Good skills GMAN got my first week 5 run tomorrow and Iβm chomping at the bit to get going, only thing is due to work Iβll be doing it on a treadmill π«
Yaaaay! Well done GMAN! We may both be doing R2 on Saturday, not sure I can fit it around work/kids tomorrow. π
Great stuff Running buddy! Well done ποΈ
Regardless of how warm it gets, your body should store enough liquid to see you through any short run. Are you hydrating properly? You should sip water throughout the day and take around 2-3 litres daily. Well, no less than two, at least. That way you are continuously hydrated. Drinking lots before or during the run will not put any water in your system, instead it will be sloshing in your stomach, although it is very comforting to take a few sips during a run in warmer conditions. I once managed the whole half marathon distance without any liquid - but, l admit, the temperature was on the cooler side!
Thanks for your advice mmrun, I've taken it onbroad πβ.
Great work Gman. I do a warm up stretches and energise in my kitchen before going out and make sure I drink about half a pint of water whilst doing that. I leave a full glass there ready for my return, not yet had a problem.
Iβm on W5R2. Should have been this morning, but life gets in the way sometimes!
Thanks for your positive feedback, and I'm sure you'll fit the second run in somewhere. Saturday's run will be my 2nd on week 5 so preparation is the key (I thinkπ€£) . Again thanks for you comments and happy running πβ
That must have been an early one this morning! Did it set you up for the rest of the day or wipe you out?!
I'm so glad to hear you are still enjoying it π
Hi Lindsey-joy, this morning i was up and at it !!. Found it hard again but this running lark seems to set me up for the day lol. Saturday's run 2 in week 5 so I'll see how that one goes, but at the minute I can truly say I'm having a blastπ. Good to hear that your new trainers are doing the business for you and long may it continue β
GMAN, what time are you running on Saturday? I'll be up at 6 for mine, shall we run at the same time?
6 is a little early for me π€£. But 7 30 would be ok if you can wait ?
No can do I'm afraid, has to be early so I can leave the house by 8
