You are doing something so amazing! It’s challenging but you’re doing it and it’s such a great feeling to be a “Runner”!! Especially when you start running for the first time at almost 49! 😂
I still remember running for 60 seconds in W1R1🥵! But I just kept going out there! I’ve had so many amazing adventures. And I’ve laughed at myself so much. I slayed the Gremlins and everything they threw at me, with humour! 😂😂!
My running experiences after graduating have continued to be amazing and often challenging. I do remember that I felt quite scared of entering the Bridge to 10k too 😳! But...I found the way forward by letting go of any expectations, except to keep running. My longest run so far is over 11k! I go out as often as I can without any expectations. Post graduation, there really is no right or wrong way to run, but all of a sudden (well it feels like it 🥴) you’re free to choose 🤔😧. That can be a bit challenging in itself. VRBs kept me going out there and I’m so close to my Graduation Runniversary now! That’s turned a bit of a pipe dream into reality!
Keep going and after graduation, please don’t be afraid to enter the Bridge to 10k like I was. The VRBs are just as amazing and you can always post in C25K to remind others that you’ve been there and inspire others to keep on going!! I certainly didn’t plan to do 10k 😱. I didn’t join a 10k plan like many do, it just happened so naturally while I was out running and feeling great on one of my runs. I was super excited about it of course, but my body did it when it was good and ready. So many do Juju’s plan and it is amazing!! I just had a better mindset without a plan! Very happy, just bumbling along! Running!! 😃😃😃👌🏽It’s led to many unexpected adventures 🤦🏽♀️ and you know what? That’s been so much fun for me too! Oh..the laughs I’ve had from running! 😂
I don’t plan to do a Half Marathon. I’m just me, running my way! But hey.....maybe This Girl Can!! And if so....so can you! 😉! Whatever I do....I’m a runner! How amazing is that? For me....very!!
You got this!! The Podium awaits with cheerleaders and pom poms ! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🤩❤️

Fab, you’re one of the first of many inspirational people I remember from my early days of C25K and I followed in your footsteps! What a long way we’ve come - what a journey! ❤️ Your words are so true. How strong we are! 💪
Ah thank you so much! 🤗 Consolidation was just like when you’ve passed your driving test and you’ve bought your first car. You no longer have the instructor beside you, so you begin by instructing yourself. There’s a little nervousness about doing it ‘right’ like the seasoned runners, but you keep going out there and in time you stop thinking so hard and just do it....your way!!! There’s only one you! Enjoy running Runner!! That’s all that’s truly required!! 🤩❤️
Ah Lexi! 🤗🤗🤗! Thank you so much! I’m certain that the run will be amazing! It’s my 50th birthday and that totally wild crazy goal to take up this running thing (and run outside where people could see me doing it, or trying to....so out of my comfort zone😂) will have been completed!! Saying I’m a runner, is something I’ll always feel Fabulous about. I’ll be running right into my name!! Mission complete!! ❤️
That's a really great analogy about suddenly being "allowed" to go it alone and wondering if you are getting it "right". Spot on. I am just going to keep on doing what feels right for me and see where the journey takes me!
Lovely to hear from all these posts that so many of us caught the bug and carried on running! Well done Fab on your achievements...you are your namesake 🏃🏻♀️💪🙌😊
Thank you so much Saartjie!! It’s amazing to think that it’s almost a year ago that I was feeling so excited about getting close to graduation!! It’s all been a big wow!! ❤️
I’m two runs from graduating C25k and am so grateful for experienced forum members like you coming back and sharing their experiences. It is helping me picture what life will be like after C25k. I started out in March with the goal to do 5k by my big 5-0 birthday, not knowing if I was being over ambitious, but feeling hopeful. Now, just over two months later after some bumps along the way, I feel it is in my sights, I’ve been bitten by the running bug and my wardrobe is filling up with Lycra!! I love it!! 💕 🏃♀️ 😊
Oh that’s such fantastic news Delly-dot!! And thanks for sharing your story too!! You are an inspiration!! The podium awaits another amazing runner, who has just kept on running despite the bumps! Just look where you are now? Brilliant!! Enjoy your penultimate and graduation runs! You have so much to be proud of!! Go you!! 🤩🤩🤩👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️
So much of that applies to my own situation. I too started C25K just before my 49th birthday. It's opened new doors for me personally and physically and I've been to places that I would never have seen if I hadn't run there. Keep it up!
Thank you Katnap!! It’s great to keep it simple and just do it!! Knowing that sometimes you’ll want to do more and sometimes it will be less, but you’re grateful that you can, every time you do it!! ❤️
Thank you Fabz ❤️ You really are my number 1 motivator, when I'm not feeling it I read your post and think Yep let's get out there 👊👊💪- I often feel like we're on the same page 🦋 Very grateful for your presence ❤️🦋❤️
