A new milestone for me - 4km!

Felt like running on a bit longer this morning and was thrilled when I stopped that mapmyrun said that I had done 4km! My longest run ever, both in distance and in time. Suddenly the 5km I've signed up for in June doesn't seem quite so daunting. Very chuffed and it was another beautiful morning at Sissinghurst Castle - I'm so lucky to live nearby and run in the grounds. Best of all, my running buddy did her first 25 minute run this morning and did brilliantly so we were both very happy bunnies.

Well done Debston - a lovely place to run and great achievements all round!

Thanks Oldgirlruns, it was perfect this morning, fairly quiet and sunny but not too hot. Pretty scenery takes my mind off what my legs are doing too and I ended up in a nice rhythm without thinking too much about it.

Fantastic and well done! You will be in great shape for your 5k!

Thanks, Delly-dot - it's on Sunday 9 June... Eek!

That looks amazing Debs, congratulations! I love seeing all the different places people run, all over the UK and all on the same journey.🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Thanks, Clubberlang - it's so beautiful there, only 5 minutes from me in the car and makes a change from my local woods. Best of all, no uphill bits! Love the idea of us all being all over the place but all on the same journey, that's nice.

isn't it wonderful when you have the feeling that a longer run may be in the bag. Love map my run as it does not drift off and add extra gps mileage like strava. Well done you wasn't it a glorious day for a runxx

It took me by surprise, that feeling of wanting to carry on! Had no idea that I'd added an extra 7 and a half minutes though because I wasn't watching the clock so that came as a bit of a shock! Glorious weather, long may it continue... ☺ ☀

It is fun to freestyle run as I call it, ie not even bother with the watch and just run as you feel, amazingly it seems to work as I did exactly the same and ran the furthest I had ever done...good on you enjoy the bank holidayxx

Free running, love it, sounds so adventurous! Going to Derbyshire for Bank Holiday weekend so looking forward to running in the lovely Peak District, carefully avoiding the actual peaks.. 😂

Congratulations to both you!

A little more effort from now one and June 5k will be smooth one. All the best for that as well.

Thanks, CheapRunner! Definitely starting to feel like I might be able to run the whole 5k by then. And if not, then so be it!

Nah, it cant be "so be it". You have to finish it. You have come so far, you can leave it now. Whoop whoop away and finish that 5K. No excuses.

😂 I will definitely finish, I just meant that I might have to walk some of it, at the end. But maybe I should put that thought away!

Well done for 4k and 5k is now so close, you're 80 % of the way there.

That's a lovely way to look at it - 80% sounds like very nearly there! The fourth km was the slowest one but I'm not worried about time, just would love to finish.

Hello neighbour! I live in Cranbrook so I drive up to the castle and start my run from the car park. But my usual route is in Angley Woods as that's on the doorstep.
