I am 58 and have not run since I was 14! I am unfit and overweight, but want to get fit for me and my family, I want to live to be 90! It was suggested to me I try the C25K approach and have just completed W3D2. I would really appreciate support from others in the same position..... T

Welcome Jack33 and what a great decision. This plan is great and it works. You'll get tons of support here and advice if you need/ want it. Just keep posting we want to know your progress. I started last September on my 62nd bday and now trying to get to 10k! Good luck and enjoy your running
Thank you for the encouragement steviej99, I am determined!
Hi, I'm 48 and at the same point as you in week 3. I have done some slow running in the past but recovering from long term health problems. I hope you're enjoying the plan as much as I am. Me time in the fresh air is fab. Keep going.
We’ll do it together, I’m not afraid to repeat weeks if I need to. I am really lucky as my husband (does a lot of running) comes out with me each time. You keep going too!
Well done on reaching week 3! You’ve made a great decision for yourself and your family.
I’m 49 with the target of reaching 5K by my big birthday later this year. With the help of C25K I’m nearly there and have just started week 8.
This forum is a fantastic place to share your progress and virtual run buddies will provide lots of support and encouragement. DiscoRunner shared a link to the Japanese Slow Jogging Technique when I was just starting and it has been great. It’s worth a look to help you with pace and a low impact technique. Either search for it on YouTube or look through DiscoRunner’s posts for the link.
Keep posting so we can cheer you on. 😊🏃♀️
Thank you, wk 8 wow!
It’ll be you too before you know it!!
Snap - I'm 58 too (close to 59 though I'd rather not admit it). I started back in February, hugely unfit, thought I was going to die after 60 seconds running, but I've graduated and now actually love running for about 30 minutes every other day. As an added bonus, I've lost weight, changed shape and am sleeping so much better than I used to. It sounds as though you've made a great start. Good luck - keep us posted on your progress.
You are an inspiration !
hi Tracey1961puffedout, well done making a positive step to changing, I am 58 too and spent 40 years doing nothing above walking dogs 😊we can do this, loads of us on here trying the same 🐢🏃♀️
How far have you got with the programme notquiteretired?
I am just about t start week 7 tmoro, I really struggled to run 60 seconds a few weeks ago and thought I would never be able to do it infact I have told only few family members I am doing it incase I cant. Beginning to think now it is possible, did 25 mins running yesterday, hard - yes, but I did it 😊 I am slow - early on I took advice on here re- japanese slow jogging n try t use this. I am slow but complete all the runs, I probs wont make 5km at end of programme but I will make 30 mins running am determined now🐢🏃♀️
we can do this fellow older runners😊
I have just looked up Japanese slow jogging online, think I have naturally adopted this style anyway! Congratulations on making it to wk7, I am following in your footsteps!
