I'm supposed to be doing W8 R2 today but been up all night with stomach problems which haven't gone away. I'm on hols abroad at the moment and I'm really proud I've kept my schedule until today.

I'm feeling pretty comfortable running just now so what are you lovely people's thoughts on running 2 days in a row to make up the lost time?

Don't do it, it's only an extra day.

I agree with LeeU. Get better and just enjoy your holiday I say. Plenty of opportunity to run when you return home.

I vote against. It’s only a day and the runs will wait. Frustrating but these things happen. Luckily you are on holiday and should have lovely sights to distract you. Enjoy, wait, and don’t risk injury. Your body is working hard for you - be kind to it.

I agree with everyone, I would only add to stay hydrated, if you're having tummy troubles it can help a lot

I’m with them. Your body is already unhappy and doesn’t need the extra pressure: to push hard now is inviting injury. Rest, recover, then get out and smash it x

Well, that's fairly conclusive then. Lazy days by the pool it is.

Thanks all.

Don't.. it is simply not worth it. Feel better soon..

Take a break and do it a day later. Nothing will happen if you don’t run. If you do, you might injure yourself and be out for longer than a day!

I think the above posters have said it all. Just relax and use the extra day to

Recover and relax.

Bad idea... progression goes down and injury risk goes up.

Lost time? I didn’t run for 30 years, not sure of your circumstances, so I lost 30 years... that’s almost 11000 days... do you think that one day is significant there? Is that one day worth the risk? You’ve kept your schedule... cool... you were ill and adjusted the schedule... that’s smart.

Hi Everyone. Just wanted to say thanks for the advice.

I ended up missing two scheduled runs due to dodgy tummy, flights and jetlag so it's been a week since W8R1.

I did W8R2 today and while it was a slog it wasn't as bad as I expected.

So all is well and I'm due to graduate next Thursday if all continues as well as it has so far.

Thanks again.
