Usually I manage to complete each week in 5 days (run, rest, run, rest, run) however due to having to go in and out of hospital over the past week or so, this particular week has taken 9 days to complete. Sometimes I look forward to a run, sometimes I am apprehensive, today was definitely in the latter what with it being 6 days since I completed run 2. I desperately wanted to get out yesterday but was still somewhat drowsy following a procedure the day before so despite my eagerness, I let my brain rule my heart for once and delayed it a day.
Well I don't know what i was worried about as i managed to absolutely breeze through this run. Granted it was on a treadmill and I have no doubt that it helped, but i didn't swear at Jo once during this session and when she suggested that added burst of speed for the final 60 minutes I actually did it with a smile on my face!
I still cannot believe i am now running for 25 minutes, never in my wildest dreams did i think I would make it this far, or, if i am honest, that this whole program would actually work. But if any new starters are reading this, let me tell you that it DOES work.
I start week 8 on Saturday at my local Parkrun (if i don't end up volunteering).
Onwards!
