Really enjoying this C25K
My question is footwear and clothing.
On a budget but where is and what is the best place to buy.
Footwear and clothing advice , please. Currently just making do with what I have , which I know is not ideal.

When it comes to footwear, that’s the place to spend the money... gait analysis at a specialist running store is the best way to go, your runs will be more comfortable, which makes this easier... and there’s a lower chance of picking up a major injury in the right shoe. These stores often have last seasons colours (of the exact same shoe) at 50% or more off.
I started this plan, in swimming shorts and football shirts, and still run in them from time to time. Avoid cotton tops as if they get wet from rain or sweat they become heavy and uncomfortable.
Keep an eye on both German discount supermarkets, one of them will be having a running week soon for sure and they sell excellent gear at very good prices.
Thanks for that . Only had cotton t shirts first week and with you on that one
One shop that should suit your budget is a Decathlon store, they should also be able to do a gait analysis for your new running shoes..
Lidl & Aldi sometimes do shorts/leggings & shirts at reasonable prices..
Good running shops are intersport, runners need, up and running, run and become.
There's also sports direct stores for those on budgets, but the service is sometimes a lot to be desired.. maybe best left as a last resort..
If considering buying shoes, this may be helpful healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and a gait analysis is highly recommended.
Most of my running clothing has come from Aldi, Lidl and Sports Direct.
Aldi's value is hard to beat.
As others have said, shoes matter. In terms of clothing, Aldi and Lidl do great stuff, as do Decathlon. The supermarkets are good too, as is Primark. If there's an outlet store near you, they're always worth checking out for higher-end brands at discount prices. TK Maxx do good stuff and if there's a McArthur Glen or similar there are often Adidas or Nike outlet stores. If you buy things online it can be difficult to be sure of the sizing until you know a brand, but it can be worth a try. You really don't need to spend much on each individual item, but be warned, buying running clothing seems to be addictive (or is that just me?)
Along with Aldi/Lidl/Sports Direct(as long as you know what you want from this last one as I agree the service can be “iffy”) and gait analysis, try any local retail outlet centre - I got my New Balance running shoes for about 1/3rd of the original price because they were last years colour!!! Really???
