You need to wear whatever feels comfortable for you.
With me, I bought some Nike gear in a sale, to make myself start the programme - since then, my collection has grown.... If you want to save money, keep an eye out in Lidl - they do some pretty good stuff in there. (Including some nifty flashing band things that I haven't tried out yet - it doesn't get dark enough atm!) Or Sports Direct are pretty good, I hear? But as I said, its what YOU feel comfortable in.
At this time of year it’s worth having clothing in fabrics that wick away the moisture. Cotton is not very good . Lots of things to consider like sun protection, sunglasses, hat. I prefer shorts and vest but choose what you are happy in . It doesn’t have to be expensive to be good. Happy running
If you are a bloke, shorts. And Lycra under shorts instead of underpants. TCA brand on Amazon are really good value. I have some with zip pockets that work well.
Top - anything that is “like a football shirt” would do but “technical” tops with good ventilation are better. Hot weather make vests good.
None of this needs to cost lots.
The only thing I've bought special is a couple of flip belts, a fiver off eBay, somewhere to put my keys and phone 'cos they never put pockets on womens clothes 🙄
Male or female? If female, the most important thing is a sports bra. If male, oops sorry 😂
Oh and I agree about the flip belt. I love mine, keys and phone held nice & secure 👍
Keep an eye out for Lidl and Aldi running events - their stuff has been of good quality and cheap. Otherwise supermarkets or check online - Google will find you some sites. The only thing I make sure I get (apart from wicking material) is that shorts/capris/long tights have a draw string at the waist which makes sure they stay in place and don't end heading for my knees 😂. A couple of pairs I bought without a drawstring I cut a small hole inside the waist and threaded a boot lace through!
I'm still happily on cotton for the most part. I don't seem to get on with techno fabrics, they make me feel disagreeably wet.
