So I'm only at w7r1 but I have a 5k event this morning, bit nervous now, worried I'm going to be way behind everyone šŸ˜± I think I worked out on strava 5k will take me 39.5 minutes ? I have no idea what to expect from other runners. Wish me luck!!!

Good luck T83! Donā€™t worry about being behind - Iā€™m sure thereā€™ll be speedy runners but thereā€™ll also be an equal number of fun runners and walkers too! Concentrate on your own run, not what others might be doing and most of all enjoy it! Let us know how you get on!

Remember to not get overwhelmed by others going fast or past you. Itā€™s your race , your run! Donā€™t worry just plod along and you will be fine. I used to be like you, now I donā€™t care šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø I just pay attention to my run so that I can finish.

You are on Week 7?

So don't even try to keep up with anyone.. do your next run and run for the time it requires... No one will mind at all...Just warm up as usual.. relax, take in the whole atmosphere and walk after your run time finishes...

No pushing... no pressure...slow and steady and you just enjoy it :) x

Like others have said do your own thing , I pushed at parkrun the other day and was sore yesterday went out for a long run this morning with a friend and we chatted (yes actually words and not gasping ) we did 7 km so slow and steady today and good luck

What everyone else said. I did my first park run on Saturday. I came in 468th with a time of 42 mins. I followed the w5r2 on c25k from the start of the run and yes you have to be disciplined not to get carried away with the other runners, but the point is I did it and I wouldn't have cared if I came in last.
